President Mamnoon Hussain has said that reviving the status of educational, literary and historical institutions and improving their performance is need of the hour so that our young generation is not only aware of the teachings of our elders but also develops passion for literature.

The President said this while talking to Advisor to the Prime Minister on National History and Literary Heritage, Mr. Irfan Siddiqui, who called on him at the Aiwan-e-SAdr, Islamabad on Tuesday.

Mr. Irfan Siddiqui briefed the President about his new responsibilities. The President felicitated Mr. Irfan Siddiqui on his appointment as Advisor to the Prime Minister and on assuming new responsibilities and hoped that under his able guidance educational, literary and historical institutions would be able to perform a positive role in promoting unity and harmony in the society. The President further stated that concerted efforts would have to be made for disseminating the message and philosophy of Allama Iqbal, Quaid-e-Azam and our national luminaries.
