Federal Minister of Industries and Production Makhdum Khusro Bakhtyar met H.E Ismatullo Nasredin, Ambassador of Tajikistan to Pakistan in his office today. During the meeting, the sides deliberated upon the framework of industrial sector cooperation between the two countries in view of Prime Minister Imran Khan’s upcoming official visit to Tajikistan. The Minister highlighted the Investment-friendly atmosphere of Pakistan and offered the attractive opportunities for foreign investment including joint ventures in five key identified areas such as textile, leather, food processing, pharmaceuticals and surgical equipments. He said that both countries could expand cooperation in small & medium enterprise (SMEs) to enhance trade volume and technological tie-up in these sector. The Minister underlined the importance of strong vendor industry base in Pakistan & said that it has developed over the years through investments by international Original Equipment Manufacturers like Sazuki, Honda, Toyota, Hine etc. He said that our government had also undertaken initiatives for boosting auto sector in the country and Tajik side could invest to get incentives in automobile industry. The Ambassador expressed the hope for enhancing economic and industrial sector ties between both countries in near future. He noted that Pakistan is strategically located at regional hub with transit route, strong human resource and growing domestic market and Tajikistan is willing to open the Government-to-government as well as Business to Business cooperation between the two sides.
