PR No. 77 ADVISER TO PRIME MINISTER ON FOREIGN AFFAIRS SARTAJ AZIZ SIGNS CONDOLENCE BOOK ON SAD DEMISE OF AYATOLLAH ALI AKBAR HASHEMI RAFSANJANI Islamabad: January 10, 2017.

The Adviser to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Mr. Sartaj Aziz visited Iranian Embassy in Islamabad today to sign the condolence book on the sad demise of Ayatollah Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, the former President of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Chairman of the Expediency Council.

On behalf of the Government and people of Pakistan, Mr. Sartaj Aziz expressed deepest condolences on the passing away of the former Iranian President.  He noted that Ayatollah Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani was a visionary leader and a statesman, who served his country throughout his life with dedication and distinction. He further inscribed that Ayatollah Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani was a sincere friend of Pakistan and the people of Pakistan will always remember his lasting contribution to strengthening of Pakistan-Iran ties. May Allah Almighty rest his noble soul in eternal peace and give patience to his family and the people of Iran to bear this loss with fortitude.
