PR No. 27 Health Minister Calls Beneficiaries Of Prime Minister’s National Health Program To Inquire About Standard Of Treatment Islamabad

Saira Afzal Tarar, Minister of State for National Health Service telephoned a number of beneficiaries of Prime Minister’s National Health Program to inquire after their health and the quality of treatment being provided to them. One of the patient Kausar Bibi expressed satisfaction over the facilities being provided to her and said she was happy that finally a genuine and sincere effort was made to provide quality health facilities that the people had never imagined, was possible.

The Minister made random calls to patients named Shenaz Bibi, Khalida Parveen, Kausar Bibi, Shahreen Nasreen and Afzal Hussain under treatment in different empanelled hospitals of Prime Minister’s National Health Program.

Talking to the media, the Minister said there was a need for stringent monitoring of the program to ensure that the beneficiaries get the services promised by the program. The Minister said she will personally visit empanelled hospitals and not relying on the reports, to see firsthand the issues, challenges and performance of the personnel involved in the program and the management of respective hospitals. She reiterated in unequivocal terms that no slackness or under performance by any official will be tolerated. She said that the program stands for the rights of the poor and any element creating impediments in program implementation will be dealt with.

The Minister said that best medical treatment be ensured to each beneficiary in line with vision of the Prime Minister and spirit of the Program. She called upon all involved in the program to work with utmost dedication to realize the noble objective.

The Minister gave instructions to the hospital to take all possible measures to provide quality services to the poor beneficiaries of the program.

So far 400 patients visited the empanelled hospitals, out of about 56 have been admitted. Toll free number 080009009 has been established for information regarding the program and complaints if any.
