CHIEF OF AIR STAFF OF PAKISTAN MEETS WITH THE TOP MILITARY LEADERSHIP OF TURKEY

Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan, who is visiting Turkey from 12-16 January, held meetings with the senior Turkish defence officials and discussed ways to further promote Pakistan-Turkey defence ties, says a press release received here today from Turkey. The visiting Pakistani dignitary separately called on Minister for National Defence of Turkey Mr. Hulusi AKAR, Chief of the Turkish General Staff General Ya?ar GÜLER, Turkish Air Force Commander General Hasan KÜÇÜKAKYÜZ, and Head of the Presidency of Turkish Defence Industries Prof. Dr Ismail Demir. During his interaction with the top Turkish defence officials, the Chief of Air Chief of Pakistan reiterated his commitment to enhance cooperation with Turkey in the fields of defence production, security and training by capitalizing on the respective strengths of each side. He also appreciated the Turkish defence production sector which has made good progress over the last few years. Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan had a detailed meeting with the Turkish Air Force Commander General Hasan KÜÇÜKAKYÜZ. He thanked Turkey for the regular participation of Solo Turk in the national day celebrations of Pakistan. Various matters of mutual interest aimed at further promoting ties between the air forces of the two brotherly countries were deliberated. Both sides discussed in detail how the air forces of the brotherly countries could enhance collaboration and exchange expertise in meeting the challenges of the contemporary world. This included Pakistan’s participation in the Anatolian Eagle multinational exercise in Turkey, Turkish Air force participation in various exercises organized by Pakistan Air Force, training and exchange of pilots, as well as defence production. During his stay in Ankara, Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan also visited Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI), leading technology firm HAVELSAN as well as Military Electronic Industries of Turkey (ASELSAN) and Turkey’s defence contracting firm ASFAT.
