President Dr. Arif Alvi has asked the Management of National Skills University (NSU) to take steps for the provision of skill-based technical education. The President said that skilled manpower played vital role in the socio-economic development of the country and urged NSU to expeditiously initiate academic programmes keeping in view the market demand for skilled manpower. He expressed these views while addressing the meeting of Senate of NSU, at Aiwan-e-Sadr, today. The meeting was attended by Minister for Federal Education, Mr. Shafqat Mehmood, Secretary Federal Education, Mrs. Farah Hamid Khan, Member HEC, Fateh M. Marri, Vice-Chancellor NSU, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar, Chairperson, National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC), Prof. Dr. Mohammad Inayatullah Khan and other members of the senate. The Vice Chancellor of NSU, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar, briefed the meeting about the aims and proposed academic programmes to be offered by the University in 2021-2022. The meeting approved the minutes of the first meeting of the Senate of NSU held in August, 2020.
