PR No.170 Minister of State, National Health Services, Saira Afzal Tarar visited the Empaneled Hospitals of Sargodha under the Prime Minister’s National Health Program ISLAMABAD

As per the directives of Honorable Prime Minister, Prime Minister’s National Health Program is working to provide free of cost indoor health care services to the poor families of Pakistan. The program has started its services in 11 districts of Pakistan while 4 more will be launched during current month. So far more than 900,000 families have been enrolled in the program and more than 14,000 have been treated in 76 empaneled hospitals across Pakistan. The Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination is now gearing up to start Phase II which will extend the services of the program in all remaining districts of Pakistan.

The next district in which services of Prime Minister’s National Health Program is to be started for the enrolled beneficiaries is the district of Sargodha. Through the program, services will be opened for more than 300,000 expected families of the district through a network of 81 nationwide hospitals, including 8 hospitals in district Sargodha.

The Prime Minister’s National Health Program is going to be launched in district Sargodha on 17thFebruary 2017. To review the preparedness of district level launch and the necessary arrangement at empaneled hospitals for beneficiary services, Saira Afzal Tarrar, Minister of State, Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination visited the venue and hospitals in Sargodha. During her visit to hospitals she stressed on providing state of the art services to poor beneficiaries of the program and instructed hospital staff to use their education and experience to provide relief to the ailing humanity.

She also emphasized on focusing all efforts to improve the socioeconomic status of the poor families of the country. She stressed on the importance of monitoring and agreed that she will personally visit admitted beneficiary at hospitals and even their home to inquire about the services being provided to them through Prime Minister’s National Health Program.

While talking to the media, MoSassured that under the leadership of Prime Minster, Mian Nawaz Sharif, she and her ministry is working day and night to assure Universal Health Coverage in Pakistan.
