OMBUDSMAN APPLAUDED OPF’S EFFORTS TO FIGHT (COVID-19) AND PRAISED ITS BRIDGING ROLE BETWEEN STRANDED OVERSEAS PAKISTANIS IN THE WORLD AND THEIR FAMILIES IN PAKISTAN.

Federal Ombudsman’s Grievance Commissioner for Overseas Pakistanis, Hafiz Ahsaan Ahmed Khokhar visited OPF Emergency Cell. The Cell has been established on the directions of SAPM for Overseas Pakistanis & HRD Syed Zulfiqar Abbas Bukhari in OPF Head Office Islamabad since 20th March 2020. The Grievance Commissioner praised the efforts extended by MD, OPF and his team working 24/7 in the cell for the provision of information, addressing the queries of overseas Pakistanis and their families. He conveyed his suggestions for farther strengthening the cell and for rendering maximum possible assistance to them regarding latest updates. He appreciated OPF’s steps for ensuring timely response to stranded overseas Pakistanis in different regions of the world. He promised to direct all the Departments to work in liaison with the Emergency Cell established in OPF. He was briefed that till date, more than 1400 telephone calls and 1700 Whatsapp messages have been received along with numerous e- mails from stranded overseas Pakistanis regarding flights restrictions, tentative flight schedules, airlines arrangements, visa extensions and assistance required from concerned quarters i.e MOFA,CAA and 24/7 helplines at respective Pak Missions abroad.
