USMAN DAR DISCUSSES KAMYAB JAWAN’S COLLABORATION WITH UNICEF

Ms. Ellen van Kalmthout, Chief of Education UNICEF called on Muhammad Usman Dar, SAPM on Youth Affairs at his office today. The meeting focused on future collaboration between PM Kamyab Jawan Programme (PMKJP) and Generation Unlimited of UNICEF. While talking about various components of PM Kamyab Jawan Programme, Mr. Dar said that the core vision behind the programme is to positively engage the youth in Pakistan. He emphasized that PMKJP is an umbrella programme that includes Rs. 30 billion skills programs, Rs. 100 billion loans scheme while few more components including Green Youth Movement (GYM) and Start-Up Pakistan are to be launched soon. Mr. Dar stressed that merit based and transparent mechanism including use of technology and apolitical approach is adopted to promote talented and hardworking youth. He further said that all components of PMKJP are open for collaboration and cooperation of reputable organizations so that we can benefit from their expertise and also to be open to third party assessment. Ms. Ellen van Kalmthout said that UNICEF will explore future collaboration between Generation Unlimited and PMKJP. She said that GYM is an excellent initiative for protecting environment and also engaging youth in this important cause. The meeting was also attended by officials of PM office.
