FEDERAL MINISTER FOR POWER & PETROLEUM MR OMAR AYUB KHAN TO CO-CHAIR PAK-KYRGY JMC AT BISHKEK

The Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan, H. E Mr. Erik Beishemhiev called on Mr. Omar Ayub Khan, Federal Minister of Energy this morning at Power Division. The Ambassador apprised the Federal Minister about arrangements for Joint Ministerial Commission meeting being held in Bishkek on February 17th and 18th, 2020. The Honourable Federal Minister is leaving for a two day visit to Kyrgyzstan for JMC. He will co-chair the Joint Ministerial Commission meeting along with Kyrgyz Minister for Industries and Trade. The Honourable Federal Minister is also scheduled to hold important meetings with his Kyrgyz counterpart and the Kyrgyz Minister for Transport, Trade and Industry separately. Mr Omar Ayub Khan said that he looked forward to the JMC meeting as it is an important forum to discuss important issues and reach beneficial results on bilateral trade, transportation, communication and energy. Both, the Federal Minister and Ambassador discussed the agenda of the JMC and areas of possible collaboration. The Ambassador wished that the Federal Minister's visit would be successful and would leading to yield good results. He also noted that Kyrgyzstan welcomed CPEC since it could be an important commercial connection to landlocked Kyrgyzstan. The Federal Minister and Ambassador agreed that relations between both the countries are friendly, brotherly and would improve with the passage of time.
