Mr. Shehryar Khan Afridi Minister for States and Frontier Regions (SAFRON) Pakistan along with Dr. Ferozuddin Feroz, Minister for Public Health and Ambassador of Pakistan Zahid Nasrullah Khan inaugurated Nayeb Aminullah Khan Hospital in Logar Province, Afghanistan, says a press release received from Kabul here today. Pakistan funded and fully equipped 100 bed Nayeb Aminullah Khan hospital is the second hospital built by Pakistan as earlier this year in April 200 bed State of the art hospital was also gifted to the Afghan government. Logar Hospital has been completed at a cost of US$ 18 Million, it is one of the several Pakistani projects to assist the people of Afghanistan in the health sector. Speaking on the occasion, Minister for SAFRON highlighted Pakistan’s contribution in providing quality health services to their Afghan brethren and noted that Pakistani Projects worth US$ 1 Billion have been completed and are playing a pivotal role in socio economic development of Afghanistan. Minister SAFRON conveyed that Prime Minister of Pakistan is extremely keen to extend all possible assistance to the people of Afghanistan to facilitate their travel to Pakistan as well as to promote trade between the two countries. In this regard work is in progress on Prime Minister’s instructions for providing 24/7 services at Torkham border and very soon this facility will be in place. He also announced to accept Afghan request for training of 440 Doctors and allied medical staff in Pakistan, the training will commence soon after conclusion of relevant MoU. Mr. Sheryar Afridi underscored the importance of mutually beneficial and of longstanding, friendly bilateral relations between the two counties. Speaking earlier, Dr. Ferozuddin Feroz, Minister for Public Health of Afghanistan thanked Government and People of Pakistan for their continued support in socio economic uplift of Afghanistan. He stated that Nayeb Aminullah hospital, is a special gift of people of Pakistan for which Afghans are ever grateful.
