High Commissioner, Mohammad Nafees Zakaria, called on the Chairman, Foreign Affairs Committee of the House of Commons, Mr. Tom Tugendhat MP, this morning, says a press release received from London here today. Discussing various facets of UK-Pakistan bilateral relationship with Mr. Tugendhat, the High Commissioner underscored that Pakistan greatly values its relations with the United Kingdom and is committed to further enhancing them, particularly, in the areas of trade and investment. He highlighted that the converging of global economic interest to Asia would afford great economic opportunities to be exploited. Mr. Zakaria said that British Companies are successfully doing businesses in Pakistan for long. He said that British investors and businessmen should benefit from the attractive investment policy and conducive environment in Pakistan. The High Commissioner underscored that resolution of conflicts in the region, such as Kashmir dispute, was important to exploit the economic potential to the advantage of the people in that continent where there was significant concentration of the poor. Welcoming the High Commissioner to the UK, Chairman Tugendhat underlined the importance the UK attaches to its relations with Pakistan. He appreciated the Pakistani Diaspora which serves as a strong link between the two countries. Mr. Tugendhat agreed that the enormous business and investment potential needs to be fully harnessed to the benefit of both the countries and its people. *****
