In relation to the Federal budget 2017/18, the impression being created in certain sections of media that the pay of the President has been increased to Rs. 1.6 million/month is not correct. It is clarified that in the current financial year monthly salary of the President is Rs. 80,000/month i.e. Rs. 960,000/year which has now been proposed Rs. 130,000/month in the new budget. Thus, after the approval of budget 2017/2018 his pay for a complete year will be around 1.6 million rupees and not for a month.
