PM GREETS MYANMAR COUNTERPART ON INDEPENDENCE DAY
 Islamabad: January 3, 2010  

Prime Minister, Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has sent a message of greetings to the Prime Minister of the Union of Myanmar, General Thein Sein, on their independence day falling on January 4.

In his message, the Prime Minister said “on behalf of the government and people of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and on my own behalf I have great pleasure in extending to Your Excellency, our sincere greetings and warm felicitations on the auspicious occasion of the independence day of the Union of Myanmar.

Pakistan and Myanmar enjoy cordial and cooperative relations.  I am confident that the friendly ties between our two countries would be further strengthened in the years to come.”
