PR No. 45 PAKISTAN TO EXPORT MANPOWER TO GERMANY - ZULFIKAR BUKHARI Islamabad: December 07, 2018

His Excellency, Mr. Martin Kobler, German Ambassador to Pakistan, called on the Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Overseas Pakistanis & Human Resource Development, Zulfikar Abbas Bukhari to discuss issues of mutual interest. The focus of the meeting was the potential work opportunities for Pakistani manpower in Germany. The impact of Brexit and the dynamics of labor market post-Brexit in Germany were discussed in detail. The Ambassador told the Special Assistant that there is an emerging need of mechatronics experts in German industries which will eventually lead to the need for mechatronics experts from all over the world. In this regard, German legislature will pass laws for immigrant workers in March of the coming year. Acting ahead, Mr. Bukhari asked the Ambassador for the role that Pakistan can play in providing maximum technical workforce that Germany needs on priority basis. Additionally, Emigration process for Pakistani workforce was discussed. The Ambassador also told the Special Assistant about the interest of German giants like Volks Wagen and Siemens have shown to invest in Pakistan. Mr. Bukhari welcomed such initiatives and assured the Ambassador of the maximum support in this regard. At the end, it was decided that there will be a mechanism created for the systematic export of Pakistani manpower to Germany.
