Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, Sayed Zulfikar Abbas Bukhari has said that education is important for the creation of a tolerant and productive society. Addressing at the prize distribution and oath taking event of OPF Girls College here in Islamabad, he congratulated the students for securing positions in the Federal Board Examinations. He administered the oath of Student Council and distributed prizes among the top performers in Matric, O level and Intermediate exams. On the occasion, he said that education proves helpful for an individual to be a productive citizen. While talking to the students of different disciplines, he said that education is an asset that cannot be taken away from you. It is your job to make society inclusive, he said. He said that we need to promote tolerance in our society. We lack the courage to accept and appreciate people for what they are, he said. Education teaches you to accept others and respect the difference of opinion that people around you have. He said, point of education is to free an individual's mind. The young lot of the country has to break the barriers to be enlightened. He emphasized the importance of mannerism. He said that Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) always emphasized the need of mannerism in order to build a society that has social harmony and strong familial bond. Further, he said that our society need special focus on morality and it is our job to rebuild moral structure, which is possible only through education. He reiterated that we have to teach the students to be inclusive so that they cherish diversity of opinion and get involved in civilized dissent only. He appreciated the way Council elections were conducted. He said that it was a pleasure to see students' ownership and regard for each other. He said that OPF schools have not got the due attention they deserve so the next 100 days agenda will be focused on education system of OPF schools and the facilitation of students there. Zulfikar Bukhari said that special attention is to be given to students whose parents are working abroad.
