Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed has said that progress and prosperity of Pakistan depends upon good performance of Railways. Addressing a news conference at Railway Station he said in Quetta this evening that the number of Freight Train has been increased from six to eight and soon its number would further be increased to ten. Sheikh Rasheed added that a combined force consisting of Railway Police, Levies and Frontier Corps would soon be established for protection of Sibi-Harnai Railway Section. In reply to a question, Sheikh Rasheed said that the Sibi-Harnai section would again be made functional within four months. In reply to another question, he said that the fares of Akbar Bugti Express and Bolan Mail have considerably been decreased keeping poverty and backwardness in view. Sheikh Rasheed went on saying that five hundred more constables in Railway Police would be appointed within the days to come. He further said that the number of different vacancies in Pakistan Railways would be enhanced to ten thousand after consultation with Prime Minister Imran Khan. He accused the previous regime of wasting national wealth through renovation of unnecessary railway stations for high rates in the country. The Minister further maintained that fence would be erected around all railway tracks across the country for the sake of protection of passengers and to avoid accidents.
