Today, on this 16th Day of October, 2018 while observing death anniversary of Liaquat Ali Khan, We reaffirm our commitment to those ideals and teachings propagated by Quaid-i-Millat during his life. He was one of the founding fathers of Pakistan, who along with Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, worked diligently for securing a separate homeland for the Muslims of sub-continent. His contributions are a golden chapter in the history of freedom movement. As the first Prime Minister of Pakistan and most trusted lieutenant of Quaid-i-Azam, Liaquat Ali Khan rendered invaluable services for the newly created state especially for rehabilitation of refugees. He took over the reins of government at a very critical time when the country was hemmed in internal and external challenges but he rose to the occasion and played the role of a redeemer. He was a staunch supporter and follower of democratic norms and worked studiously for laying the foundations of the democratic institutions as well as paved the way for its development. The nation lost a great leader in a tragic incident on Oct 16, 1951 but his services before and after the creation of Pakistan will always be remembered. We need to strictly adhere to the principles upheld by him and follow the glorious path he charted out for the state of Pakistan. May Allah rest his soul in peace.
