PR No. 101 H.E. MR. VLADIMIR ANDREICHENKO, CHAIRMAN OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF BELARUS CALLS ON PRIME MINISTER Islamabad, April 11, 2017

H.E. Mr. Vladimir Andreichenko, Chairman of the House of Representatives of Belarus along with delegation called on Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif at Islamabad today.

The Prime Minister welcomed the Chairman and his delegation to Pakistan and stated that Pakistan – Belarus relations have grown at an unprecedented pace during the last two years and both countries are further consolidating bilateral ties in diverse areas.

The Prime Minister stated that regular interaction between parliamentarians is essential to deepen relations between the two countries. Parliaments serve as vital bridges in forging people-to-people contact, enhancing understanding and promoting mutually beneficial cooperation. The Prime Minister proposed exchange of visits by the members of Pakistan – Belarus friendship groups in the Parliaments of the two countries.

The Prime Minister apprised that Pakistan’s economy is growing and offers great investment opportunities in Agriculture, Agro based Industries, Pharmaceutical, Light Engineering, Machinery Manufacturing, Oil and Gas Sectors. The Prime Minister expressed satisfaction over the Fourth session of Pakistan – Belarus Joint Economic Commission held in Karachi during March, 2017. Such sessions provide excellent opportunity to further improve bilateral Economic Cooperation, added the Prime Minister.

H.E. Mr. Vladimir Andreichenko thanked the Prime Minister for welcoming his delegation to Pakistan and expressed the hope to further strengthen bilateral relations.

The Belarusian delegation comprised of H.E. Mr. Leoni Zayats, Minister for Agriculture & Food, Mr. Dzmitry Habarau, Member Parliament, Mr. Anatoli Hryshuk, Member Parliament and Mr. Andrei Ermolovih, Ambassador of Balarus to Pakistan.

Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Speaker National Assembly of Pakistan, Mr. Sartaj Aziz, Advisor to PM on Foreign Affairs, Sardar Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari, Chairman Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and other senior officials were also present during the meeting.
