PR No. 87 Pakistan's Relations with Britain are very Deep Rooted: Dr. Farogh Naseem Islamabad: September 12, 2018

Thomas Drew, British High Commissioner to Pakistan called on Dr. Muhammad Farogh Naseem, Federal Minister for Law and Justice in his office. Throughout the meeting, the topic of bilateral issues between the two countries mainly remained under discussion. In the meeting, Dr. Muhammad Farogh Naseem said that Pakistan's relations with Britain are very deep rooted and the current Government is enthusiastic to further developing this partnership to strengthen work in areas of rule of law and counter terrorism. He said Pakistan and Britain share a long history of cooperation, including on human rights, rule of law and legislative improvements. He further assured his cooperation and impressed upon the British High Commissioner to work together for a safer UK and Pakistan. During the course of meeting Barrister Maleeka Bokhari, Parliamentary Secretary for Law and Justice appreciated the efforts of British Government which is working on strengthening the criminal justice system and rule of law in KPK and Punjab. The British envoy said that Britain regards Pakistan as an important ally and in the past Theresa May had visited the country thrice in different capacities. He appreciated the efforts of Dr. Farogh Naseem for promoting the rule of law and congratulated him on assuming his charge as Federal Law Minister. ***** ?
