Advisor to PM on climate change Malik Amin Aslam Khan has said that his government attaches highest priority to education and Environment. Because, the country is facing many "environmental threats" due to severe climate changes Therefore we have to educate the people regarding environmental challenges and their countering measures. He stated this while talking to the Chairman of Higher Education Commission (HEC) Dr Tariq Banuri, who called on the Advisor to PM on climate change here at MOCC Islamabad today (Thursday) Malik Amin Aslam Khan said that the role of academia is highly important to produce quality research of international standards and HEC being regulatory body of higher educational institutions could play a pivotal role in this regard . Malik Amin Aslam Khan shared with the chairman HEC that on 2nd September, 2018 when we observed "National plantation day" the response of academia towards this national cause was highly appreciable and phenomenal. Thousands of students and teachers came out and enthusiastically participated in the drive and many of them shared their selfies with us on our Facebook page "plant4pakistan" Advisor to PM on climate change stressed that HEC should highlight environment and climate change issues through workshops, seminars and academic discussions to create awareness among the masses. Chairman HEC, apprised the Advisor that his organization is taking all necessary measures to promote the culture of research in higher educational institutions by engaging professionals, researchers, with expertise in glacier agriculture, industry, livestock and other relevant fields. Chairman HEC, being himself an environmentalist, assured his maximum support to the Ministry of climate change in key endeavors of the ministry including curriculum preparation on environment and ten billion tsunami tree plantation drive. ***** ?
