PR No. 76 “PAKISTAN IN FOCUS” HELD AT SCO FILM FESTIVAL IN QINGDAO Islamabad: June 20, 2018

The program “Pakistan in Focus” was held in Qingdao, during the SCO film festival on 15th June 2018, says a press release received here today from Qingdao. Mr. Xin Long, Deputy Director of Qingdao Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Film and Television welcomed the Pakistani delegation and termed the screening of Pakistani films as iconic, given the long history of Pakistan China brotherhood. A Press Conference was held, attended not only by Pakistani official delegation but also by the cast and crew of the selected Pakistani movies. All participants shed light on their experiences and expectations from the SCO film festival. The film festival was unanimously declared to be a perfect platform for bringing the SCO member states closer by building a community of shared future. “Chalay Thay Saath” a Pakistani movie being selected for the “In Focus Ceremony and Film Exhibition” was well received by the Chinese audience. The Director Mr. Umer Adil, Producer Ms. Beenish Umer and lead actors Ms. Syra Shahrooz and Mr. Kent, a Chinese actor, were present on the occasion and introduced their movie. Furthermore, the cast and crew of the films “Bin Roye”, “Jawani Phir Nahi Aani” and “Punjab Nahi Jaongi” also promoted their respective movies at the screening of the films. The representatives of the Pakistani movie “Jawani Phir Nahi Aani’ and CCTV-6, the China Movie Channel signed an agreement wherein the movie shall be aired on the Chinese channel. Ms. Ambreen Jan, leader of Pakistani delegation, Ms. Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of Pakistan Beijing, Ms. Sultana Siddiqui, CEO of Hum TV and a Jury Member, Ms Momina Duraid and eminent actors Mr Humayun Saeed and Ms Mehwish Hayat were also present on the occasion.
