The management of Rungis, the world’s largest fresh produce market of France has shown keen interest to establish their state of art, fully equipped and integrated whole sale hyper market in Pakistan, says a press release received from Paris here today. This offer was made by Mr. Benoit Juster, Director Project during his meeting with Ambassador of Pakistan to France Mr. Moin ul Haque who recently visited Rungis located in the outskirts of Paris. The Ambassador welcomed the interest shown by Rungis to setup a similar facility in Pakistan. He visited various sections of the market and was briefed about the procurement, storage, distribution and supply mechanisms of the facility. The possibility of using the platform of Rungis market for Pakistani food products was also explored. It was agreed that a special event will be held at the market in the month of July to promote mangoes from Pakistan. In winter this year, Kinoos of Pakistan will also be introduced through Rungis market. Officially opened in 1969 and spread over an area of 234 hectares of land, Rungis market is equipped with state of art procurement system, distribution network and storage facilities. It has an annual turnover of nearly Euros nine billion providing business opportunities to over 6.64 million visitors and 1.258 million registered buyers of France and other European countries.
