PR No.167 SENEGALESE STUDY TOUR WRAPPED UP AT BISP Islamabad: 19th April 2018

On the last day of three-day study visit of Senegalese delegation to BISP, a wrap-up session was concluded here in Islamabad. Chairperson BISP Ms. Marvi Memon alongwith Secretary Omar Hamid Khan co-hosted the wrap-up session. The 14 member Senegalese delegation was led by Mr. Gningue Pape Malick Director of the National Cash Transfer Program Senegal, accompanied by Special Advisor to Prime Minister Ms. Ndiaye Adjaratou Diakhou, Advisor to Secretary Mr. Diallo Abdoulaye Djibril and other Social protection specialist from World Bank, based in Senegal. Senegalese delegation, while sharing their experience during three-day long study visit expressed their warm gratitude to BISP leadership. They expressed their study tour as worth-learning experience, while appreciating the BISP Graduation Model, Biometric Verification System, the IT applications and database management system. In addition to that Senegalese also thanked for the warm hospitability by the BISP team and amazing food, they had during their visit. Ms. Memon, extended an invitation to the Minister of Senegal to visit Pakistan soon. Moreover she shared documentation of the latest NSER 3.0 Model with them, to adopt productive features from it. She also expressed concern to share IT based applications between the two countries. Secretary BISP appreciated the approach of Strategic alignment of Senegalese Protection Model with other programmes in Senegal. Moreover, he shared his views about the untapped private sector in both the countries to sustain this model. Secretary BISP termed the study tour as “joint-learning” process for both sides. And he expressed to continue the knowledge sharing process in future.
