Federal Minister for Human Rights Senator Kamran Michael has called on Ambassador of Human Rights Mr. Kees Van Baar and Ambassador of Netherlands in Pakistan, Ms. Jeannette Seppen here in Lahore on Wednesday. Besides, officials of Ministry of Human Rights and representatives of Netherlands were also present. On this occasion, Federal Minister for Human Rights apprised them regarding the endeavors taken by Government of Pakistan particularly by Ministry for Human Rights to promote and safeguard the rights of minorities. He shared about the recent amended laws for minorities and said that punishment regarding child labor and forceful marriages is also in to the consideration of Ministry of Human Rights.  Federal Minister for Human Rights told the officials that different committees have been formed at provincial levels to ensure the vigilant and timely delivery of rights to every member of this society.

He added that the Government of Pakistan has taken many steps to ensure the human rights particularly the rights of the women and the minorities. Concerted and effective efforts are made by the Government to fetch improvement in all those areas where it was required to introduce.

Federal Minister for Human Rights said that Government of Pakistan and Ministry for Human rights are aware of the demands and basic rights of all minorities and we are striving hard not only to ensure the rights of people but also to make any amendment as per the demands of time. We believe that basic human rights cannot be neglected and we need to work together for the betterment of humanity. Ambassador of Human Rights and Ambassador of Netherland highly appreciated the endeavors of government and Ministry for Human Rights and praised the steps taken in this regard. #
