PR No. 133 PAKISTANI COMMUNITY IN FRANCE URGED TO WORK WITH EMBASSY TO IMPROVE BILATERAL TRADE AND INVESTMENT Islamabad: February 16, 2018

The Ambassador of Pakistan to France Moin ul Haque met with a cross-section of Pakistani community and representatives of Pakistani media in Paris and thanked them for their continued support to the Embassy in its efforts to further strengthen bilateral relations between France and Pakistan and its various projects for promoting soft image of the country, says a press release received from Paris here today. During the meeting, the Ambassador gave a comprehensive briefing on various developments of 2017 and the planned activities for 2018. He also informed them about the measures taken by the Embassy for improving the quality and efficiency of Consular Services and Embassy’s outreach initiatives. Ambassador said that bilateral trade between France and Pakistan is following an un-upward trajectory, noting with satisfaction that bilateral trade in the outgoing year of 2017 has registered significant increase with balance of trade in favor of Pakistan. The Ambassador said that investments from France were also increasing with more and more French companies are taking interest to invest in Pakistan and benefit from the Special Economic Zones which are being set up in Pakistan as part of CPEC Project. The Ambassador informed them that as a part of its economic diplomacy initiative, the Embassy in collaboration with Board of Investment, Pakistan and MEDEF France will organize a trade and investment seminar in Paris in the month of March. The Ambassador said that the Pakistani diaspora is an asset for the country and we greatly value their suggestions/recommendations to improve efficiency of the Embassy’s services. He invited them to be an active and effective partner with the Embassy in its efforts to promote the interests of Pakistan in France. The Ambassador especially thanked the Pakistan media persons based in France for their continued support in promoting the public diplomacy and economic diplomacy initiatives of the Embassy and assured that the Embassy will continue to extend its support to them in discharge of their professional assignments. ****
