PR No.35 A GROUP OF PAKISTANI JOURNALISTS FROM URDU MEDIA SPONSORED BY THE US STATE DEPARTMENT CALLED ON THE PAKISTAN AMBASSADOR TO THE US AIZAZ CHAUDHRY Islamabad: 04, April 2017

A group of ten Pakistani Journalists from Urdu Media sponsored by the US State Department in collaboration with the University of Oklahoma called on the Pakistan Ambassador to the US Aizaz Chaudhry today. The Journalists are currently visiting USA as a part of a journalist exchange program between the Pakistan & the US.

Ambassador Chaudhry warmly welcomed the Pakistani journalists from Urdu media and thanked the US State Department for arranging such visits.

During the detailed briefing, Ambassador Chaudhry informed the Pakistani journalists that both the countries are working together in various fields such as education, health, economy, agriculture etc over the last many decades.

In response to a question regarding Pak–US relations in future, the Ambassador Chaudhry stated that it was his top priority to work for  strengthening Pakistan’s relations with the US by winning friends for Pakistan in American polity. He stressed, it is of utmost importance that the world particularly the United States takes notice of the Pakistan’s highly positive emerging scenario in the fields of security & economy.

While commenting on the current economic turnaround in Pakistan, Ambassador Chaudry opined that the time has come for the US investors & businessmen to come forward and take advantage of the countless investment opportunities in Pakistan.

While referring to Pakistan’s relations with China, Ambassador Chaudhry underscored that Pakistan acted as a bridge between the US and the China in the past and for Pakistan, relations with China and the US are equally important. Ambassador Chaudhry urged USA to play its role in bringing peace and stability in Afghanistan. He reiterated that Pakistan is firmly committed to promoting peace in the region by working along with other countries.

While concluding, the Ambassador appreciated the initiative of the US State Department and added that such programs serve as a positive bridge between Pakistan and the US by promoting people to people contact and also provide tremendous exposure and great learning experience to the Pakistani journalists.
