Pakistan Consulate Jeddah has catered for around 5500 applicants during the first 5 days of the amnesty scheme announced by the Saudi government, which started on 29th March 2017,says a press release received here today from Jeddah.

 

          In Jeddah, 2000 applicants applied for out passes, which are being delivered to them within next 4-5 days. Efforts are being made to further bring down the period to 1-2 days. 800 persons applied for extension in passports, which have been extended and given to them the same day, after completing the necessary formalities. Rest of the people came to ask details about the scheme and sought advice from the desk about their cases.

 

          A special consular team was deputed by the Consular General Mr. Shehryar Akbar Khan to visit Medina on 31st March and 1st April 2017 (Friday and Saturday). The team held its camp at the Pakistan House, and provided assistance to the Pakistani community. 500 community members were provided services during the two days camp. 150 persons applied for out passes while the rest inquired detailed information about the amnesty scheme.

 

          The Consulate has opened a special desk to provide services for the amnesty scheme. The staff is available on the desk since morning till evening from 0700 hours to 2030 hours throughout the week including the weekly holidays.

 

          Consulate General of Pakistan is also planning special consular team visits to different areas of the region to provide assistance to the community.
