PR No. 117 Graduates of Prime Minister’s Youth Skill Development Programme to Get Loans Under Prime Minister’s Interest Free Loan Scheme Islamabad: January 16, 2018

“100,000 graduates of Prime Minister’s Youth Skill Development Programme will get an opportunity to avail interest free loans under Prime Minister’s Interest Free Loans Scheme on priority basis”, said Ms. Leila Khan, Chairperson Prime Minister’s Youth Program, while chairing a meeting on the integration of these two components of Prime Minister’s Youth Programme. Representatives of National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) and Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF), the executing bodies of Prime Minister’s Youth Skill Development Programme and Prime Minister’s Interest Free Loans Scheme respectively, attended the meeting. Ms. Leila Khan added,” PML-N government is focused on financial inclusion of the poor and under-privileged segments of society. Therefore, right after coming to power in 2013, it launched wide range of schemes under the umbrella of Prime Minister’s Youth Programme for helping its youth to get education, vocational trainings and start businesses of their own.” It is quite encouraging to note that so far 100,000 youth, both male and female, have successfully completed 6-months trainings under Prime Minister’s Youth Skill Development Programme. Whereas, under Prime Minister’s Interest Free Loans Scheme, Rs. 9.5 Billion has been disbursed as interest free loans among 401,120 borrowers for establishing businesses. Chairperson Prime Minister Youth Program asked National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) to share the data of its graduates under Prime Minister’s Youth Skill Development Programme with Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) team for the speedy processing of interest free loans for them under Prime Minister’s Interest Free Loans Scheme in order to start their own business activities.
