Minister of State for Overseas Pakistanis Human Resource Development, Abdur Rehman Khan Kanjoo said that Government of Pakistan is doing well to prevent human trafficking. He said that human trafficking is global problem which demands a truly global response. Minister of State said this while talking with Ms. Kari Johnstone, Head of the US Department of State’s Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in persons, who called on him at his office on Friday.

The Minister of State said that concerned departments have made a comprehensive plan to stop the human trafficking. Ms. Kari assured that US government will support Pakistan for taking any extraordinary for preventing human trafficking. Ms. Kari said that Pakistan has been on Tier-2 watch list for four years. She said that if any country who is on Tier-2 and does not show any progress it is pushed on Tier-3. Minister of State assured that Pakistan is doing efforts to reduce human trafficking and has tightened the laws to stop this heinous crime.
