A high level South African delegation headed by
Ms. Lynne Brown Minister for Public Enterprises visited Ministry of Defence Production
Rawalpindi today and called on Rana Tanveer Hussain Federal Minister for
Defence Production.
Rana Tanveer Hussain said that Pakistan values the
relations with South Africa and wishes to further enhance the existing
ties. Federal Minister highlighted the importance of enhanced defence
collaboration between the defence industries of two countries including joint
production.
Minister also emphasized that Military and
defence relations between Pakistan and South Africa have the potential to grow
further. Rana Tanveer Hussain said that Pakistan has a well-established defence
industry comparable to defence industry of any advance countries.
A bilateral meeting was also held between South
African delegation co-chaired by Ms. Lynne Brown Minister for Public
Enterprises and Rana Tanveer Hussain Federal Minister for Defence
Production. Delegates discussed the avenues for enhancement of defence
collaboration and mutual cooperation. Pakistan Aeronautical Complex Kamra also
gave briefing to the delegation on its on-going defence projects and their
potential.
Ms. Lynne Brown Minister for Public Enterprises South Africa thanked Rana Tanveer Hussain Federal Minister for Defence Production for warm hospitality extended to South African delegation and providing the opportunity to discuss avenues which eventually will lead to enhance bilateral relations between two countries and improve coordination for joint defence industrial projects.
