 Minister of Sports of Sri Lanka Dayasiri Jayasekera called on Federal Minister for Inter-provincial Coordination (IPC) Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada in Sports Complex, Islamabad on Monday.

 

Federal Minister Riaz Hussain Pirzada welcomed the Sports Minister of Sri Lanka, and matters related to sports were discussed during the meeting.

 

Riaz Pirzada said that both Pakistan and Sri Lanka are enjoying cordial relations in different fields including sports and education. 

 

The Federal Minister thanked Sri Lankan Sports Minister for coming in Pakistan along with Sri Lankan cricket team.

 

Minister of Sports of Sri Lanka Dayasiri Jayasekera said that Sri Lanka and Pakistan have good relations and hoped that these ties between the two countries would further enhance in future.

 

During the meeting, Sri Lankan Sports Minister requested for provision of Pakistani coaches to Sri Lanka for enhancing the skills of Sri Lankan players in the field of squash, hockey and kabadi.

 

The Sri Lankan Sports Minister also sought Pakistan’s assistance in developing and establishing squash courts facilities.

 

The Federal Minister Riaz Hussain Pirzada assured Sri Lankan Sports Minister that Pakistan is ready to give each and every assistance to Sri Lanka in the field of sports. 

 

The Federal Minister said that Pakistan Sports Complex has all sports facilities, adding that we also have full security arrangements  in Sports Complex.

 

Later on talking to media persons, Federal Minister Riaz Pirzada said that Pakistan has close ties with Sri Lanka and Sri Lankan cricket team’s visit to Pakistan gave message to the world that Pakistan is peaceful country. 

 

He said that sports relations between Pakistan and Sri Lanka would further boost.

 

Minister of Sports of Sri Lanka Dayasiri Jayasekera said that he is happy to tour Pakistan along with Sri Lankan cricket team after eight years.

 

He also lauded security arrangements during Sri Lankan cricket team visit to Pakistan.
