President Mamnoon Hussain has said that Scouting can play a vital role in forming the character of youth, promoting their physical, mental and spiritual development and making them well disciplined, useful and good citizens.

The President said this while in a meeting with a delegation of Rose Scouts (Girls Group) from Lyari, Karachi headed by Ms. Rahila Hameed Khan Durrani, Chief Commissioner, Pakistan Boy Scouts Association (PBSA) that called on him at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, Islamabad on Thursday.

The President hoped that Rose Group will provide opportunities for the development of girls and young women, so that they become confident, patriotic and law abiding citizens capable of performing their duties in the home, as well as community and the country. The President expressed confidence that Rose Group will empower girls and young women working as the agents of change to build a better Pakistan and world. The President hoped that the girls in Scouting of Rose Scouts Group will create awareness for girls’ education and peace in Lyari and spread this message all over Pakistan to promote health and wellbeing of all women and families.

The President urged that Scouts should be more active and vibrant and work together for unity, peace and solidarity and share their experiences and vision with each other. The President called upon educational institutions of the country to continue extending their full support to the promotion of this movement.

The President commended the entire Scouts fraternity, especially the scouts of Pakistan, for their continued services to the humanity and also for serving as a source of inspiration to the young people. The President assured Pakistan Boy Scouts Association and all scouts of the country of full support and patronage in furtherance of their noble mission. The President wished the scouting movement in general and in Pakistan in particular greater success and hoped that it would become an important vehicle for promoting peace, progress and harmony in the country.
