Governor Punjab Malik Muhammad Rafique Rajwana called on Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq in Parliament House, Islamabad today. Matters pertaining to parliamentary affairs, political and economic matters and issues of mutual interests were discussed in the meeting. Deputy Speaker National Assembly Murtaza Javed Abbasi was also present at the occasion.
Congratulating Sardar Ayaz Sadiq for his re-election, Governor Punjab said that his re-election as Speaker National Assembly by overwhelming majority of the legislature reflects highest regard and trust in his persona as the custodian of house by the Parliament and also tantamount to a tribute to his services rendered for strengthening of democracy in the country. He expressed his confidence that Sardar Ayaz Sadiq would continue to flourish democratic norms through his conduct by exhibiting impartiality and neutrality irrespective of political affiliations.
Speaker Natiional Assembly expressed his gratitude for the kind words and apprised the Governor about the legislating business and other parliamentary affairs of the House. Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said that he always endeavors to conduct the proceeding of the House in an unprejudiced and objective manner. He said that a vibrant opposition with constructive role is exhibiting dynamic performance in the House which reflects its commitment to democracy. He informed the Governor about the performance of Standing Committees of the National Assembly and expressed his commitment to enhance their effectiveness.
