The Minister for Finance, Senator MohammadIshaq
Dar, who is in Kuwait to attend the High Level Global Islamic Finance
Conference, today held a meeting with Mr. Abdulwahab Al-Bader, Managing
Director Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development ( Kuwait Fund).
Senior officials of the Fund and Pakistan’s Ambassador to Kuwait, Mr.
Muhammad Aslam Khan also participated in the meeting, says a press
release received from Embassy of Pakistan Kuwait.
The Minister thanked Mr. Abdulwahab for the important role that Kuwait
Fund has played as a reliable development partner, contributing to
several important development projects in the energy, infrastructure,
human resource development and other sectors. During the meeting
progress of various projects being financed by Kuwait Fund in Pakistan
was reviewed. The Minister informed the Kuwaiti officials of the
positive trajectory of the Pakistani economy and the investment friendly
environment created as a result of the prudent policies of the present
government and the vast improvement in the security conditions following
the successful anti terrorism operations.
MD Kuwait Fund expressed appreciation for the positive economic and
business outlook in Pakistan. He assured the Minister that Kuwait Fund
would be happy to fund more and bigger projects in Pakistan in the
sectors proposed by the government.
The Finance Minister also met a group of Kuwaiti investors, led by Mr. Saad Mohammad Al-Saad, Chairman National Industries Group (NIG) and including Mr. Fahad Al-Khalid, Chairman Noor Investment Company, and Mr. Bader Al-Ajeel, Deputy MD Kuwait Investment Authority (KIA) and discussed investment opportunities in Pakistan.
The Minister also met with a group of leading Kuwait-based Pakistani corporate executives and shared with them the positive horizons of investment and trade openings up in Pakistan.
The Minister would also be meeting a diverse group of Kuwaiti and Pakistani investors and business leaders as well as community notables later this evening.
