Ambassador of Arab Republic of Egypt H.E Mr. Sherif Shaheen called on Rana Tanveer Hussain Federal Minister for Defence Production in his office at Ministry of Defence Production Rawalpindi. During the meeting Minister said that Egypt has long history and a significant role in Muslim Countries. He said that future cooperation in defence Industry is very important. Egypt also showed interest in buying JF-17 Thunder. Minister also emphasized on joint venture in defence Production. The Minister invited him to visit defence production establishments.

The minister said that Pakistan is presently selling its traditional weapons to USA, UK, Germany and far-east. The minister also offered JF-17 and Super Mashak to Egyptian Govt. The Minister said that already Iraq has signed an agreement to purchase 20 Super Mashak with Pakistan and the deal with Turkey to buy 52 Super Mashaks is almost finalized. The Ambassador said that Egypt admires strong and close ties with Pakistan. Egypt is keen for cooperation in the field of defence production. Close cooperation between the two countries will also help other Muslim countries over the world. The Ambassador said that we are looking at collaboration in defence industry as the core of relations between Pakistan and Egypt. Moreover the Cadet Exchange programme in the field of military training is much appreciated by both the countries. The Ambassador said that Egypt will send a defence delegation to visit the Defence Production Establishments and look into buying defence related products from Pakistan.
