PR No.18 Ambassador Designate Of The Eu To Pakistan Calls On Zafarullah Khan Islamabad: December 2, 2015

Designate of the European Union to Pakistan Jean Franscois Cautain called on Barrister Zafarullah Khan, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister / Minister of State for Human Rights at his office in Prime Minister Office on Wednesday.

Barrister Zafarullah Khan welcomed EU Ambassador Jean Franscois Cautain.

Matters of mutual interest were discussed during the meeting.

Barrister Zafarullah Khan told EU Ambassador Jean Franscois Cautain that on the instruction of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Ministry of Human Rights has been restored as earlier it was the part of Ministry of Law and Justice. Now there is a full-fledged and independent Ministry of Human Rights.

On the occasion, Barrister Zafarullah said that government of Pakistan wanted to expand relations with EU regarding Human rights.

Jean Franscois assured cooperation saying that we will be happy to expand ties with Pakistan especially regarding human rights. EU is exploring avenues on human rights, he added.

At the end of meeting, Barrister Zafarullah Khan presented his book titled “Human Rights” to EU Ambassador Jean Franscois Cautain.
