A high level committee constituted by Prime Minister to investigate causes leading to fire incident AT Gaddani has submitted the report to the Prime Minister Office. The committee noticed that the safety measures for the labour working at Gaddani are absolutely inadequate. The committee suggested identification of responsibilities of Government as well as Shippers for taking measures for safety and security of the labour. In this regard report emphasized on taking practical steps.

Committee has recommended to constitute Ship Recycling Board Gaddani (SRBG) under the supervision of Chief Secretary Baluchistan. SRBG will be responsible to fully implement the recommendation of the report to avoid such incidents. Board would fully equipped to prevent such disasters in future.

Committee has recommended disciplinary action against those found negligent. Financial Compensation has also been recommended, for the victims and their families.
