On the directions of the Prime Minister, the Minister of State for CADD, Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry has visited the Islamabad Model School for Girls, Sangjani and ensured provision of basic teaching facilities in the school.

 

To overcome the shortage of classrooms, which had rendered the children to take their classes in the open, the Minister has directed the administration to provide three class rooms and a hall of the adjacent school of Islamabad Model School for Boys Sangjani which are not in use of the Boys School, to the Islamabad Model School for Girls. Therefore, the said class rooms and hall have been handed over to Islamabad Model School for Girls, Sangjani till the construction of the new class rooms. From 7th November, 2016 classes have been shifted there. At present no teaching activity is being conducted in open area and all the students are studying in their classrooms.

 

There were reports of shortage of student chairs in the school but the issue has been sorted out. On the directions of the Minister for CADD, Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, 200 student chairs have been provided from the resources of Capital Administration and Development Division and from 9th November no student will be sitting on rough rugs.

As stop gap arrangement, three teachers have been posted in the school from nearby schools and one computer teacher recently recommended by FPSC shall be posted during this month who will supervise the computer lab which is equipped with 15 computers.

 

Funds from main Federal Directorate of Education budget are being provided for repair of wash rooms, play area and lights and the task shall be completed in 10 days of time.

 

It is worth mentioning here that the said school fall at serial number 120 in the Phase II of ‘Prime Minister Education Reform Program’, where-in ten (10) additional class rooms with two toilet blocks, renovation, rehabilitation, face-lifting including 420 student chairs have been proposed. The work on phase II of Prime Minister Education Reforms will start as soon as funds are received from the Ministry of Finance which will release Rs. 1 billion as first installment of Rs 3 billion during the current fiscal year 2016-2017. PC-1 of up-lifting of 200 schools has been submitted to Planning commission by the CA&DD.

 

Four CCTVs cameras along with recording system and boundary wall is available in the said school.
