PR No.158 MINISTER OF STATE ENGR MUHAMMAD BALIGH UR REHMAN ATTENDED THE QUIZ PROGRAM ON FAHM UL QURAN AS CHIEF GUEST AT IMCG F7/4 TODAY. Islamabad, November 17, 2016

Minister of State congratulated the Principal of IMCG Korang Town Madam Amina and her team for arranging such a competition at college. He said that learning has been given an utmost importance in our religion. The first word Allah Ta’ala taught in Quran is “Iqra” which means “To read”, stated the Minister. Our beloved Prophet (PBUH) said that it’s obligatory for ever man and woman to acquire education. He added that we need to learn and understand Quran in true sense because in Quran we would find success in this world and hereafter.

Talking about the Islamic teachings in curriculum, Minister of State that it has been approved in cabinet that Nazra Quran would be taught from class 1 to class 5th and translation of Quran would be taught from class 6th to class 12th, students would first be taught about the incidents in Quran and then would be taught about the ahkams in Quran. He said that we all need to make an effort to improve our curriculum for the betterment. Our ministry has been working on national minimum curriculum but it’s not a one man show, emphasized the Minister.  It’s our collective responsibility to learn and understand in better ways; students, teachers, parents, academicians, policy makers and government officials we all have to work in coherence with each other for better outcomes.

In the End, Minister of State congratulated the students and urged them to study with full devotion and dedication, and distributed prizes among the winners of the competition.
