PR No.263 Islamabad

The National Commission for Human Rights (NCHR), Government of Pakistan is in deep grief over the Quetta Carnage where approximately sixty-one cadets of police became victims of a well-planned terrorist attack. A high level and an independent enquiry is needed for a truthful report on this episode, which should also make recommendations for curative and protective measures. The report will reveal the circumstances or lapses which allowed the extremists an easy access to the training academy. Those responsible for omission, deliberate or otherwise, should be made accountable. The NCHR urges the governments to ensure that proper security measures are in place at important public places and training academies of our” Jawans”.

The NCHR prays for the departed souls. May God assuage the anguish of the bereaved families.
