PR No.259 HIGH COMMISSIONER OF PAKISTAN TO BANGLADESH, H.E. MR. RAFIUZZAMAN SIDDIQUI PRESENTS CREDENTIALS TO THE HONOURABLE PRESIDENT OF BANGLADESH Islamabad

The High Commissioner of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Bangladesh, Mr. Rafiuzzaman Siddiqui, presented his Credentials to the Honourable President of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, H.E. Mr. Abdul Hamid, at the Bangabhaban this afternoon, says a press release received here today from Dhaka.

Matters of mutual interest were discussed in the meeting that ensued after the presentation of the Credentials.

The President warmly welcomed the High Commissioner and assured him full cooperation in the successful discharge of his duties.

The High Commissioner conveyed the desire of the Government of Pakistan to further strengthen bilateral relations and to bolster the political, economic, cultural and defence bonds that exist between the two brotherly countries. He also reiterated the need to enhance trade, people-to-people contact and cooperation at all levels.

Pakistan greatly values its relations with Bangladesh. The relations between the two countries are based on mutual respect and shared values.

This is the second time that the Government of Pakistan has chosen Mr. Rafiuzzaman Siddiqui to serve in Bangladesh.
