PR No.248 NEED FOR PAK-IRAN PRISONERS EXCHANGE ACCORD URGED Islamabad

Attorney General of Islamic Republic of Iran along with five members delegation visited the office of the Attorney General of Pakistan in Supreme Court Building. Additional Attorney General Nayyar Rizvi received the guests at the gate. The Iranian delegation met with the office bearers of the Pakistan Bar council (PBC).  The Iranian delegation and office bearers of the PBC exchanged views related to laws of both countries. Ambassador of Iran in Pakistan Mehdi Honardoost Was also present on the occasion. The delegation also visited court Rooms and observed proceedings of the hearings.

The Iranian delegation later visited Law ministry and met with Federal Minister for Law and Justice, Zahid Hamid and special Assistant to Prime Minister, Barrister Zafar Ullaha Khan.

The Attorney General of Iran, Mr. Muntazeri also expressed his grief and sorrow over the tragedy of Police Training Center in Quetta. He condemned the terrorist attack. He urged for improving ties and security related issues of both countries. , Mr. Muntazeri said that Iran and Pakistan have an agreement for the exchange of the prisoners but this accord is non functional. He emphasized that there is need to make this accord functional. He further said that law experts of both countries should make a committee for removing the hurdles relegated to the agreement of prisoner’s exchange. Mr. Zahid Hamid said that today’s cross-cultural marketplace, negotiations and play a critical role in managing interdependent relationships  and ensuring informed decision-making.  He said that understanding the strategy and psychology of effective negotiations is an invaluable asset when shaping deals and building successful relationships.  Law minister in this occasion presented the gifts to the Iranian delegation.
