H.E Mr. Sherif Shaheen, Ambassador of Arab Republic of Egypt called on the National Security Adviser Lt. Gen ( R ) Nasser Khan Janjua today.

The two sides expressed satisfaction on warm and brotherly relationship between Pakistan and Egypt, which are rooted in commonness of religion, history and culture. Both the countries share their perceptions on a number of regional and international issues. The Ambassador of Egypt expressed his concerns over the grave human rights violations perpetrated by Indian Occupation Forces in Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He appreciated the policy of restraint and patience shown by Government of Pakistan in response to the hostile attitude of Indian Government. He reiterated his Government’s support to the endeavours undertaken by Pakistan to maintain peace and stability in the region.

The NSA expressed confidence in the ability of Egyptian people and the Government to surmount all the challenges of security, political stability, social and economic development.   He also briefed the Ambassador on current situation in the region especially heightened tension between Pakistan and India. Instead of resolving the situation through political means or dialogue, the Indian Government is using military might to suppress the innocent civilians. The NSA urged the international community to intervene and resolve Jammu and Kashmir dispute in accordance with United Nations Security Council Resolutions, he reaffirming the right of self-determination for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
