PR No.114 PAKISTANI STUDENTS IN SRI LANKA ON STUDENT EXCHANGE PROGRAMME Islamabad

A 10-member student delegation from Modernage Public School & College Abbotabad, Pakistan led by Mr. Abdul Wahid Mir, Principal of the school met with High Commissioner of Pakistan in Sri Lanka Maj. Gen. (R) Syed Shakeel Hussain at the High Commission of Pakistan, says a press release received here today from Sri Lanka.

The student delegation visited Sri Lanka under Pakistan-Sri Lanka Youth Exchange Programme arranged by Ministry of National Policy & Economic Affairs and National Youth Services Council of Sri Lanka from October 4-11, 2016.

While, briefing the delegation about Pakistan-Sri Lanka relation, the High Commissioner of Pakistan in Sri Lanka Maj. Gen. (R) Syed Shakeel Hussain highlighted that the two countries continue to enjoy excellent relations and there is a strong will on both sides to further develop and strengthen these relations.

H.E. Shakeel Hussain emphasized that such visits are an excellent way to further improving the understanding and friendship between the two nations. He expressed the hope that the visit would add value to the already strong bonds of friendship between Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

He further added that more frequent people-to-people contacts through enhanced student and faculty exchanges between learning institutions of the two countries would further promote this relationship. He assured that the High Commission would continue to patronise and support such initiatives.
