H E Fran- Micheal Mellbin, European Union Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan called on Lt General (R) Nasser Khan Janjua in his office today. He came to Pakistan after visiting China, India and Afghanistan.

Areas of mutual cooperation and overall regional security situation came under discussion in the meeting.

Speaking on the occasion, the National Security Advisor stated that peace in Afghanistan is also vital for Pakistan. He highlighted the efforts Pakistan has made, and will continue to make, to bring peace in Afghanistan through an Afghan led and Afghan owned peace process.

He stated that Pakistan is a responsible state and is playing a vital role in bringing peace in the region.

He reiterated that Pakistan will continue to support reconciliation and peace efforts in Afghanistan. He further stated that there should be an end to unhelpful statements and blame game and bilateral relations should not be allowed to deteriorate
