Ministry of Climate Change has started two days Plantation Campaign under the Green Pakistan Program with the collaboration of Paidaar Organization with school children
“Children are the most important part of this Plantation Campaign and we need to educate them regarding the benefits of Plantation” said by the Prime Minister’s Focal Person on Climate Change and Green Pakistan Program Rizwan Mehboob.
“Prime Minister’s Green Pakistan Program is an initiative to protect forests and wildlife in Pakistan. We need to educate our upcoming generations to make Pakistan Green. This is first activity under Green Pakistan Program launched with children considering their importance of involvement”, informed by Rizwan Mehboob
He appreciated children and encourage them to plant more trees as much as they can.
DIG Forest of Ministry of Climate Change Abdul Munaf Qaimkhani said, “Habit next to Habitat is following all around the world so, we should also go with this slogan and let our kids know about the importance of wildlife conservation and plantation”
This campaign will continue for two days 7th and 8th September.. The total number of schools is seven and target is to plant 650 trees in these schools.
In 1st day 4 schools are covered which included 1slamabad Model School G-6/2, Hakeem Luqman Road and planted 40 trees , Islamabad Model school #1, Street 30, G-8/4 that planted 100 trees, Islamabad Model School#2, Street 30, G-8/4 and it also planted 100 trees, I Feel School at Islamabad Model school #2 planted 40 trees.
The trees planted today included Kachnaar, locaat, jaman , amrood, lemon, amaltas, Jacaranda, Hibiscus and fiddlewood trees .The rest three schools will be cover tomorrow.
AIG Forest Aurangzeb, Wildlife Conservationist Umeed Khalid, PRO Zile Huma , Mrs. Qutub and Kashif from PIEDAR,and many other people also participated in this campaign.
