The Vice Administrator of Chinese National Energy Administration (NEA), Mr. Li Fanrong along with his delegation called on the Federal Minister for Water and Power & Defense, Mr. Khawaja Muhammad Asif here in his office at Ministry of Water & Power to review progress of CPEC energy projects.

Minister welcomed the Vice Administrator of NEA and his delegation and said that Pakistan attaches special emotions and importance to China and highly values its relation with China. The Vice Administrator of NEA, Mr. Li Fanrong said that China and Pakistan have cordial relations and both countries have assisted each other in difficult times. He further said that the CPEC energy projects are progressing well under the able leadership of Mr. Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Federal Minister for Water and Power. “Our aim is to complete all the energy projects in their given time frame and to benefit Pakistani people by fulfilling their electricity needs by 2018”, added Mr. Li Fanrong.

Mr. Li Fanrong said that for the timely completion of the projects it is of utmost importance that the bottlenecks must be removed and the Chinese workers in Pakistan on different projects under CPEC should be provided full security.

The Minister for water and power, Mr. Khawaja Muhammad Asif lauded NEA and said that CPEC covered a lot of ground in short time owing to the effective and efficient working of NEA & assured Mr. Li Fanrong that all the issues and bottlenecks impeding the energy projects will be removed to ensure smooth implementation and timely completion of the projects. “All relevant ministries will be contacted and issues pertaining to them will be discussed and resolved”, added the Minister.

Mr. Khawaja Muhammad Asif further stated that all necessary measures will be taken to ensure the safety and security of Chinese workers working on different CPEC projects. “CPEC would be a success story of the region and will further strengthen the Pak-China economic relations.

Mr. Khawaja Muhammad Asif impressed upon his interlocutors to fast track the work on all energy projects and ensures their timely completion.
