PR No. 113 OBSERVANCE OF 20th JULY AS BLACK DAY AT MINISTRY OF DEFENCE AND MINISTRY OF DEFENCE PRODUCTION FOR SHOWING SOLIDARITY WITH THE PEOPLE OF INDIAN OCCUPIED KASHMIR Rawalpindi

Ministries of Defence and Defence Production observed “Black day” on Wednesday, the 20th July 2016 to express solidarity with the people of Indian Occupied Kashmir and lodged protest against grave violations of human rights by Indian government against the innocent people of Kashmir.

All officers and staff wore ‘Black Ribbon’ on their arms in the office during working hours on 20th July 2016.They said that violence against people of Jammu and Kashmir was open violation of human rights. They urged that all human rights organizations of the world must play their role to end these atrocities. They said innocent youth of occupied Kashmir were being killed by Indian security forces just for raising voice for freedom and open choice of self-determination as conserved by United Nations Organization’ resolution. Special prayers were also offered for the martyrs of Kashmir in both ministries .Secretary MoDP Lt. Gen (R)  Syed M. Owais was also present during the prayer.

Black Day is being observed on Wednesday across the country and on both sides of Line of Control to express solidarity with the Kashmiri people. Rallies and functions are being held across the country and Azad Kashmir to draw attention of the world community towards the grave human rights violation and state sponsored terrorism against peace loving people of Jammu and Kashmir by India.
