PR No. 31 PRIME MINISTER LEAVES LONDON FOR PAKISTAN Islamabad

Prime Minister of Pakistan, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif left London for Pakistan this morning. During his stay in London the Prime Minister underwent a successful open heart surgery. The Prime Minister departed for Pakistan as soon as his doctors allowed him air travel, says a press release received here today from London.

At the Stansted Airport, the Prime Minister was seen off by Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Speaker National Assembly and H.E. Syed Ibne Abbas, Pakistan High Commissioner to the UK, together with the officials of the High Commission. The Speaker is on an official visit to the UK.

Speaking to the media at his residence before departure, the Prime Minister said by the Grace of God, his doctors have declared his health satisfactory. He thanked the entire nation for their prayers for his early recovery and good health. When asked for his comment on Maulana Edhi’s death,

The Prime Minister said Edhi Sahib was a great human being who served humanity selflessly and he was saddened along with the whole Pakistani nation on his passing away.
